What Is StarWalker® MaQX Laser Recovery Like?
Recovery from laser treatments depends on which treatment you receive and how well your skin tolerates the treatment. Redness & mild swelling are common skin reactions, but anticipated reactions vary greatly depending on the type of treatment you are getting, the treatment intensity, and your skin’s sensitivity. Typically, post treatment recovery can be anywhere from no downtime to 7–10 days. With some treatments, minor erythema can persist for a month.
Pre treatment instructions will be provided as it is important to discontinue medications that will cause increased bleeding and some skin care products that may sensitize your skin to the laser. It is also extremely important to avoid the sun both BEFORE AND AFTER laser treatments. This includes artificial tanning and tanning creams/lotions.
Dr. Nicole will provide you with aftercare instructions. This may involve skincare product recommendations, avoiding sun exposure, and applying a cold compress to reduce redness and irritation.
